Top Tips!

-When buying fruit I buy individual pieces rather than bags. My kids might eat one nectarine or pear a week so a full pack just goes to waste! For bigger fruit (pineapple, watermelon) I tend to buy pre-prepared. Saves time and waste!

-Have lots of teaspoons!! A lot of the snacks I make require some kind of utensil and a teaspoon is a great option (Just don’t pin your hopes on getting them back!)

-Remember that a lunch box should never contain nuts, or seeds (particularly sesame) and I try and stay away from strawberries and kiwi also. My children don’t have allergies but other children in their class will. Better safe than sorry!

-Keep in mind the time that your child will be eating their snack and if it will be refrigerated. I leave my banana’s skin on to prevent browning (just cut a bit at the top for easy peeling) and keep their boxes in the fridge overnight so they are nice a cool the next day.
